Jesse Nathan Kalange is an IT security specialist, cyber diplomat, and digital rights advocate with a strong background in technology and is known for his involvement in the fields of cybersecurity, internet governance, and information technology, particularly within the African context. He has held leadership roles in various organizations, contributing to discussions and initiatives aimed at enhancing cybersecurity and internet infrastructure in Africa.

His dedication to promoting internet access and equitable technology distribution, with more than 6 years of technical and civil society experience in digital transformation, network and system administration, has enabled him to champion digital rights, Internet for all, and equitable technology distribution across Africa.

He serves as the Vice President of the Internet Society Uganda Chapter, a role that involves advocating for stronger cybersecurity measures, supporting the development of Internet infrastructure, and participating in key regional and international forums focused on these areas. He has been active in fostering collaboration among stakeholders to improve internet access and security across the continent.

Due to his contributions, Kalange is recognized as a significant figure in the efforts to advance the digital landscape in Africa, with a focus on creating a more secure and accessible internet for all.

He is also an active youth member of the Africa and Global Internet Governance Forum and co-founded the Uganda Youth Internet Governance Forum and East Africa Youth Internet Governance Forum, which he coordinates to enhance meaningful youth participation in Internet governance and the implementation of digital transformation initiatives.

Kalange has also been a key vocal activist for digital inclusion, and his work further encompasses advocating for the rights of internet users, pushing for policies that ensure internet access for marginalized communities, and working towards the development of internet infrastructure in Uganda. Through his leadership at the Internet Society Uganda Chapter, he has been involved in various initiatives that aim to enhance cybersecurity, improve Internet governance, and foster the growth of digital skills among the Ugandan population.

His efforts are geared towards creating a more inclusive digital environment, where technology serves as an enabler for socioeconomic development and individual empowerment.

Kalange's work is characterized by a strong commitment to ensuring that technological advancements benefit all segments of society. He believes in the power of the internet as a tool for social change and strives to make it accessible and beneficial to everyone, regardless of their socio-economic status.
