Vice Chair for UASG and an experienced IT professional with over 25 years of experience in information technology, especially in the areas of email, antispam, Internet technologies, and security. He is currently Director at several technology companies of the Data Group, including Data Xgen Technologies, which is well-known for developing the first fully EAI-ready email software and serving over 50 million email users globally. Walia has been advocating for UA, EAI, and IDNs for the past several years and has delivered multiple presentations and workshops on both national and international platforms.
He is a strong believer in emerging technologies and a strong supporter of universal acceptance as well as the use of local languages and scripts on the Internet. He regularly attends ICANN public meetings, IGFs, APTLD, etc. He was also on the NASSCOM Product Council and on the National Committee to develop a model RFP template for software products under the NPSP in India. He is also vice chair of the EAI Working Group of the Universal Acceptance Steering Group (UASG), a group promoting UA initiatives globally. He is committed to spreading awareness about UA to make sure that it is viewed as a necessary requirement. He also serves as the Universal Acceptance Senior Advisor for the various communities, networks, and alliances, helping to promote UA. Nitin Walia is based in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India.
