About me
Reg Levy is Associate General Counsel – Domains at Tucows, Inc., a wholesale domain-name registrar (Tucows Domains), mobile services enabler (Wavelo), and a fiber ISP (Ting). In that position, she manages a team of compliance professionals and explains the Internet to both lawyers and law enforcement.
Reg has been an active member of the multi-stakeholder community that helps create policy at the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), the governing body of the internet, for some time and continues to sit on multiple working groups that drive policy, including co-chairing the RrSG DNS Abuse Sub-Group and RrSG Compliance Sub-Group. In these capacities, she helps make policy solutions for the industry that make bad people feel sad.
Prior to working at Tucows, Reg was with a portfolio TLD registry, where she helped put your cat memes online in totally unique places, bringing multiple new gTLDs online, including .horse and .law. She studied law at Pepperdine University, Jura at the University of Augsburg, and has a degree in dispute resolution. She is called to the bar in California but usually sends it to voicemail. She speaks German, French, and Klingon and is active in both local and fantasy bar associations. She mentors new lawyers and cautions aspiring ones.
Reg is actively anti-fax and will teach you how to set up and use PGP. Her pronouns are she/her and her title is Mx.
